Statement from the Executive Committee of the Lexington Democratic Club Regarding Zohran Mamdani

Adopted June 10, 2025 by the Lexington Democratic Club Executive Committee:

Let us be unequivocal — Zohran Mamdani does not represent the values of the Democratic Party or the people of New York City. His record is one of extremism and division. Mamdani is a socialist whose policies would destabilize our city’s economy, public safety, and future.

More disturbingly, Mamdani has a history of supporting antisemitic rhetoric and movements. He refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. He has publicly endorsed the antisemitic BDS movement and encouraged others to join while standing in front of a sign reading “The only solution is Intifada.” He even once described picking up a Hezbollah pager as an “act of love.”

There is no place for antisemitism in New York City. There is no place for those who embrace hate and radicalism in our city government. And there is no future for socialism in a city built on diversity, opportunity, and resilience.

The Lexington Democratic Club stands firmly against bigotry and extremism in all its forms. We urge all New Yorkers to stand with us, reject hate.

Vote on Primary Day. Protect our city. Reject hate.
